Who We Are

The Dallas Area Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter has a long and rich history. The chapter was founded May 15, 1918 and was first mentioned in The Aglaia of Phi Mu, Volume XIV, No. 2, January 1920. The reference appears in a report given by Epsilon Alpha (Southern Methodist University) which reads “The alumnae of Xi Kappa, Phi and Epsilon Alpha have organized an Alumnae Chapter in Dallas. Their purpose is of course to be more intimately connected with our chapter's and to keep up their own interest in the fraternity….”

From the beginning of our chapter, social interaction, ritual, philanthropy and collegiate support have been important to our members.

In 1995, the name of the Dallas chapter was changed to the Dallas Area Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter. This change represents and reflects the dynamic growth that the Dallas area has seen, and helps encompass all our members, regardless of which community around Dallas they live in.

The Dallas Area Phi Mu Alumnae Chapter will continue to grow and exhibit the ideals of our creed into the next century
