I
moved to Dallas two years ago from Shreveport.
I was a member of the Shreveport Alumnae group and served
as reference chairperson. I
attended the kick-off coffee and immediately knew that I would
LOVE this group.
I
find our chapter so interesting.
Eleanor, Marilynn, Jane and the many
other ladies who have been members of Phi Mu for so many years
inspire me. They remain active, loyal members and they enjoy
every minute of it.
I love hearing
about the different collegiate chapters that members have come
from. I love
hearing the songs that members sing…even Lynda’s crazy
“Phi Mu peanut butter” song! I have a blast at our “social” outings and I am
spiritually moved by our charity work.
But most of all I love it that an organization that takes
up just a small amount of my time offers me so much joy and
fulfillment.”

“After graduating from Tarleton,
I moved to Dallas, working in a corporate office I met many
people but really didn't think about my college sorority days. One
day, by the fax machine, I mentioned "my sorority in
college" and found that another lady at my office was also
a Phi Mu, from SMU! We decided to look into the Dallas
Alumnae Chapter and heard of a meeting the next week. We
went to lunch bunch and I was hooked!! I had
just broken up with my long-time boyfriend and had these
wonderful new friends to support me and activities to keep me
busy...
My
involvement in the alumnae chapter is an extension of the
love that I felt as a Phi Mu collegian. All the wonderful
ladies I met at lunch that day I now know personally and
treasure each story and experience we have shared.”
